You don't have a category that fits my search/selling needs. Can I add it?
Yes! We want to make this site work for you, so if you ever see a category that you think we need, please suggest it to us so we can add it right away.
What is the difference between BoatsWest and BoatsEast ?
At this time, very little. All listings are searchable from either site and as we begin to expand, we will cater each of these sites to their respective regions.
How do your 'Featured Listings' work?
'Featured Listings' are appear both on the homepage of the site, and on the search pages of the category the item is listed in (If your listing is a boat, it will be displayed in the 'Boat Search' page as well). Featured listings are rotated every 15 minutes and are selected at random to ensure that each listing gets adequate exposure. Clicking on the photo or title of the featured listing will bring the buyer directly to your 'details' page. Additionally, featured listings are listed at the top of all initial search results and contain a thumbnail photo of your listing. Each time a buyer perfoms a search in a specific category, featured listings will be returned first and will be at the top of the page. Featured listings are a great way to increase the exposure of your listing and are more appealing for a buyer.
What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to share information over the web. RSS feeds are very efficent way to spread basic information (headlines, descriptions and a link) without having to read the entire article or visit several different web pages. They are typically formatted as XML page and consist of specific lines of code. RSS feeds are propagated through several search engines, or can be added or visted directly from the site of origin. RSS can be displayed using RSS readers (similar to a stock headline ticker) or embeded as content in pages. Below is an example of how a My Yahoo! page displays an rss feed.
